Jackie Lai's White Home is a bold concept of a future home, characterized by a monochromatic white color palette, futuristic furniture with refined elegance, and an amazing visual presence. The design is immersive and experiential, with a smart home system that allows the user to easily control lighting and create the right ambiance for every moment.
The design's unique properties lie in its integration of form and function. The house is not just a living space, but an interactive environment where space, interior, furniture, media, and technology merge. The design is distinguished by its use of recessed light belts that guide you to the bedroom, enhancing the home's futuristic feel.
The White Home measures 11000mm x 11000mm x 3000mm, covering an area of 120 square meters. The design incorporates various elements such as a dining table, sculpture table, and elliptical furniture, all characterized by a futuristic, streamlined aesthetic. The design also includes solid surface curve walls and parametric elements.
The design process began in January 2019 and was completed by October 2019. The project posed several challenges, including maintaining a consistent tonality across different materials and integrating smart home technology. However, these challenges were overcome by using materials like solid surfacing, metal, and glass, which make the space reflective and appear larger.
Jackie Lai's White Home is a testament to the possibilities of futuristic design and smart home technology. It is a space where the physical and digital worlds merge, creating an immersive and experiential environment that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing.
